Since we are talking about such a “sensitive” subject as privacy in social networks, I would like to raise the following question: how many users are on Facebook at all?
The answer to this question is not as obvious as it seems.
Throw from my side a few figures in this ongoing for more than three years discussion.
It’s clear that there are generally two sources of all numbers regarding abovementioned statistics:
- Facebook itself,
- indirect sociology.
Therefore, one cannot hope for a final diagnosis, but it’s worth digging a little.
Officials are confused in the progress. There is either 2.3, or 2.5, or 2.7 billion already.
Total in the system.
For the third quarter of 2018, the report contained information on 2.27 billion active users. Those who come at least once a month.
At the same time an active daily audience consists of 1.523 billion active users.
This activity is measured by several indicators, including Facebook Messenger sessions.
Take for example the United States. In the technical statistics of the social network itself, we have 126.2 million Facebook Messenger users in the US and 214 million daily active users.
